Entry requirements

Your application can only be processed and considered if submitted via CampusOnline.

The following items are required for your application (all in English!)

I. Completed application form

• Create an applicant account in CampusOnline.
• Submit an application for the programme of study you wish to apply for in CampusOnline
• Submit all the required documents
• Conclude the application process in CampusOnline

II. Attachments:

• The motivation letter (max. 2 pages) explaining specific talents and interests that make you particularly well-suited for the M.Sc. programme
• A copy of your B.Sc. certificate including a confirmation with individual grades for the coursework and examinations completed during the applicant's studies
  • 180 ECTS in total
  • An examination grade of 2.5 or better on the German grading scale
  • substantial modules in Physical Geography and methods
  • [If the bachelor's certificate is not yet available, confirmation containing the individual grades for all examinations and courses up to the registration deadline must be submitted, showing that you have completed  at least 135 ECTS. The B.Sc. certificate has to be submitted until the end of the 1st semester at the latest]
• If applicable, affirmative action application
• If available, evidence of special qualifications (stipends, prices, internships, etc.) or interdisciplinary study skills
• Evidence of a basic command of German (for non-native speakers documented by a German language certificate equivalent to the A1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages has to be submitted until the end of the 2nd semester at latest)
• Evidence of a strong command of English (documented either by a highschool degree, a B.Sc., or a thesis completed in English, or an English language certificate equivalent to the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
• Your curriculum vitae CV (in table form, 1 page, including a recent photo)
